Aaron Turk said deputies asked the residents to turn the music down around 11 p.m. Saturday and left after compliance.
However, tragedy struck shortly after midnight, when at least 80 shots were fired in what officials now describe as a coordinated attack involving multiple shooters and multiple firearms, possibly including long guns.

The deceased victim was identified as 58-year-old Shawn Patrick Hood of Lenoir, North Carolina. He was found dead at the scene. Authorities reported that the victims range in age from 16 to 58 years old, reflecting the diverse age group that attended the gathering.
